The mission of Department of Public Health Dentistry is to provide leadership and excellence in the field of dental health promotion and dental public health. A fundamental component of department’s mission is to provide excellence in teaching at undergraduate school level. Departmental teaching will focus on presentation of foundation knowledge and practical application to the practice of dentistry in solving community oral health problems.

Activities: Students are encouraged to work in rural setting through the peripheral centers affiliated to the department and college. Dental health camps are regular activities of the department. Voluntary Health Organizations, NGOs, Charity Foundations, Educational Institutions and Service Organizations request the department for conducting treatment and screening camps. On request camps and school dental programs are conducted regularly. Camps for special select groups like blind children, differently able children, destitute, orphans and aged people are also organized.
